Another random joke

Posted by Sarah on November 22, 2007

A little kid named Katya (who always wore skirts) went to school for the first day of kindergarten. A little boy named Timmy asked her to climb the jungle gym, so Katya did.

When she went home, Katya told her mum about her day. When she got to the part about the jungle gym, her mum said, ” Don’t do that. He might just be trying to look at your underwear.” Why this was such a big deal, Katya didn’t understand, but she didn’t say anything.

The next day, Timmy asked Katya to climb the jungle gym again, and she did. When she got home, Katya told her mum about her day, including the jungle gym.

Katya’s mum was so angry. “What did I say, young lady? How do you know he wasn’t just trying to look at your underwear?”

Katya said, “But I tricked him mummy. Today  I didn’t wear any underwear!”

The world’s oldest joke

Posted by Sarah on November 22, 2007

Historians believe that this may be the worlds oldest joke.

The ancient Greeks believed that their gods were immortal: That means that they never died. They were eternal.

A Greek girl was praying to Zeus, the king of the gods. She was trying to understand his eternal nature. “Zeus,” she asked, “what’s a million years to you?” “A million years is like a second to me,” Zeus explained.” And a million dollars?” “A million dollars is like a penny to me,” Zeus replied. The girl felt daring, and she asked, “Zeus would you give me one of your pennies?” Sure,” Zeus replied. Just a second.”

My Fantasy creature

Posted by Sarah on July 27, 2007

Name: Endwella
Type of creature: Siren
Lives: underwater, in dark places. Likes swimming on the ocean floor
Diet: Children’s blood (leaves the body to rot.)
Personality: Evil, wants revenge on land dwellers.
Talents: Has a really beautiful voice, has a talent of making people do what she wants them to do.
Description: No-one got close enough to see what she looks like, but I was lucky enough to get a quick glance at her, before I swam for my life. Here is my description.
Description: She looks like a mermaid, but when you look closely, her tail, is actually, a giant fish. I think, the fish clamped onto her body. She has webbed hands, but has sharp claws, great for getting hold of the children. Her teeth are razor sharp, and stained with blood, but she still looks innocent. Her voice is magnificent, and she lures children way from the safety of their parents, and into her trap. Her hair is golden coloured, and long. Her eyes, are filled with mist. Her nose is a bit pointy. Slowly I get closer. She stares at me, and starts singing. Its too hard to resist. No! I swim away, far away. I look back, but I  can’t see her. I’ll never go next to her again!
That was my encounter with Endwella. I was lucky enough to make it out alive.

Maths Project - semester 1

Posted by Sarah on July 20, 2007

S23P have all been working hard on our maths projects. We had to find our weak spots (parts of maths that we need help on), and practise it on maths sites. When we have learnt how to figure the answer out, we have to show the class how to do the topic you choose, by presenting a sheet of paper, with a question (not to hard, that you can’t figure it out, or not to easy, like 1+1.)For example, if you needed help on addition, you have to show the class how to divide, and then ask a medium level question (that is related to your topic.) You have to show the class how to solve it, then, (if anybody asks a question,) answer questions. I choose elapsed time, because I didn’t really know how to get the answer. All I knew was, you had to subtract it, but I didn’t know how! Now I understand it better! Thanks Mrs P, for teaching us!!!!

Samorost decriptions.

Posted by Sarah on June 22, 2007

Mrs P made us think about Samorost again, and think of decriptive sentences. Here are my sentences:

The trees were like tentecles all twisted up together, connected to an unknown monster, waiting hungrily for a lost traveler to approach.

Suddenly, my metal ball smashed into something. I curiously peered out the window and saw a forest like one in a fairytale. I slowly lowered one of my legs into the darkness below me and then, closing my eyes took a binding leap, into the darkness below. BOING! I landed into the safty of  a bouncy mushroom. I jumped up and glanced excietedly around the forest, trying to take in my surroundings. I couldn’t wait to start my adventure!

A letter to home

Posted by Sarah on May 4, 2007

A letter to home 4th of May

Hi Mum, Dad and Alice.

Sorry that I couldn’t write to you for so long. I was too busy fighting, and had no time to even go to the toilet! I miss you Dad, Mum and Alice, so much. I think of you every time I go to bed. I hate it here, and would do anything to leave, but I would do anything to defend my country, even sacrifice my life. I got wounded once, when a Turk shot at my right leg. I thought I had no chance of surviving, until a kind man and his donkey came to my rescue. I had no energy to talk to him so I do not know his name.

?I spent 5 months in hospital recovering from not only the pain, but also the shock. Tell Alice that I miss her dearly. She is a great little sister and when I come back I will take her to the forest. When we first arrived, the Turks shot at us. Lots of people died when we didn’t even get out of the boat! Our bags were humongous and we all had trouble walking. We had to walk in a swamp to get there. Some people drowned because the bags put a lot of pressure on us. It was hard work trying to keep our guns out of the swamp, but I managed.

?Our tents are really cramped and freezing, but like I said, I would do anything to defend my country, even die. I lost my possum in Egypt. I was heart broken, until I found an abandoned mouse. I even toilet trained him. I hope I get to see Mary again, as she is my Wife. Please don’t grieve if I die. I want you all to always be happy. I know I will always be even through tough times. I hope Alice likes her present. I sent my mouse to you. Please name him anything you like. I shot 5 Turks. I felt really happy.

?My legs feel like jelly because we had to keep walking to stay awake. I hadn’t had a shower for ages. When I come home, the first thing I will do is have a shower. I know it sounds like I am over confident, but something inside me tells me that I am going to go home. I hope I am right. Sometimes I feel homesick, but I know I will be with you soon, that makes me happier. I will send more letters to tell you what is going on whenever I can. Don’t miss me because you will see me later on. I promise! Oh no, another Australian shot! All the Turks are on top of a cliff, so we have to climb up towards them, but they can easily shoot at us, so we have to dig trenches in the cliff with our hands! My hands were bleeding and I nearly collapsed, but I was too busy thinking of being shot, then me losing both my hands! Luckily I recovered!

We hardly have any time, or any thing to eat. I am starving! We only have some water and a biscuit to share between us, because no one wants to go out looking for food, we are too scared that some one will shoot us. I know that one day I will see your happy faces again!? Thank you for the photo of the family you have sent me. It means so much to me! It makes me think of you every single night! I am not going to give up! Australia has to beat the Turks! I miss you a lot! I will never stop thinking of you! I made some friends, so I am not that lonely. One of my closest friends is Phillip! He is still alive! He is fighting right now! It is nearly my shift! I have to go now! I miss you so much! I will see you soon!

Lots of love Patrick
